Following an examination of data from a number of international organizations (such as UNICEF, WHO etc), key scientific publications and in discussions with world health experts and community leaders, we have identified target communities with the highest rates of childhood mortality from lack of adequate sanitation to which we can ensure ‘safe passage’ of Soap Aid soap and education materials. Our program is targeted at educating families around the use of soap and good hygiene practices around the household to minimise hygiene related illness. To ensure the effectiveness of the Soap Aid program, we have targeted communities in which Anganwadi and ASAH (Accredited Social Health Worker) workers are engaged as we believe this pre-existing infrastructure will facilitate the greatest impact.
